Item Details
A superb mid 19th C (1870) Mahogany Partners Library Table.
On an exceptional scale being 8ft in length and with six drawers (three to each side).
Commissioned around 1870 for the Whiteleys Family in Bayswater, London.
William Whiteley (29 September 1831 – 24 January 1907) was an English entrepreneur of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was the founder of the William Whiteley Limited retail company whose eponymous department store became the Whiteleys shopping centre.
Overall the condition of the table is original and unrestored. There are no significant damages but the table is showing signs of use with a few minor scratches to the leather and the timbers.
This table would sit perfectly in a high end retail setting, commercial space or gun room.
